Local groups in Burton

Real groups, in real rooms, near you. Talking to other men face to face is one of the most reliable things that helps — and every group here is free. None of them needs a doctor's referral: you can just turn up or call. Details were last checked in October 2026 — if a time or place has changed, the group's own website is always the final word.

SARAC Men's Support Group

Run by SARAC with Burton Albion Community Trust, the Burton YMCA and BAC O'Connor Centre. A safe, welcoming space for men to talk openly about stress, trauma, low mood or anything else — no referral, no booking, just come as you are.

Good to know: Free. You don't need to share anything before you're ready — just turn up and listen if that's all you want at first.

Burton & District Mind

A local mental health charity covering East Staffordshire. Peer support groups, activity projects (like Walk and Talk Football and Bat and Chat Cricket) and a crisis café, alongside counselling services. Groups are free; you register once and they'll help you find the right one.

Good to know: Register online at burtonmind.co.uk/contact-us and their coordinator will call you back — you can also ask them to fill the form in for you over the phone.

Burton YMCA

The Burton upon Trent & District YMCA runs support for men in Burton alongside SARAC and Burton Albion Community Trust, including the Men's Walk and Talk for Wellbeing.

Good to know: Walks are announced on the YMCA's events page and social media a week or two ahead — the Wednesday 6–8pm men's support group at the Fire Station (above) runs every week regardless.

A group isn't the same as help in a crisis. If you need someone right now, you'll find your local crisis line on our support page — and in an immediate danger, always call 999.
